The Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra made its grand debut on January 22, 2025, at an unpacked event event in San José, California, and it’s already turning heads.

While the hardware upgrades were presented without much fanfare, the revamped design and the game-changing One UI 7 software steal the show, leaving us with a strong first impression of this flagship device.

Design and Display

 The Galaxy S25 Ultra features a refined design with slightly rounded corners and a titanium frame, contributing to a lighter and more ergonomic feel. It boasts a 6.9-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with a resolution of 1,400 x 3,120 pixels, offering a variable refresh rate from 1Hz to 120Hz for smooth scrolling and optimal power efficiency.

The screen achieves a peak brightness of up to 2,600 nits, ensuring excellent visibility even under direct sunlight. For durability, the anti-glare coating that debuted on the Galaxy S24 Ultra returns with the second generation of Gorilla Armor 2, which significantly improves outdoor display visibility.

Under the hood, the Galaxy S25 Ultra is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, delivering a 40% performance increase over its predecessor. This chipset enhances AI processing capabilities, enabling more sophisticated and personalized user experiences.

The device comes equipped with 12GB of RAM, with storage options of 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB, utilizing UFS 4.0 technology for faster data access and transfer speeds.

 Samsung has significantly upgraded the camera system on the Galaxy S25 Ultra. The rear quad-camera setup includes: 

  • A 200-megapixel primary sensor with an f/1.7 aperture featuring optical image stabilization (OIS) and 2x in-sensor zoom. 
  • A 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens with a 120-degree field of view and an f/1.9 aperture. 
  • A 50-megapixel telephoto lens with 5x optical zoom and OIS. 
  • A 10-megapixel telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom and OIS. For selfies, the device offers a 12-megapixel front-facing camera with an f/2.2 aperture. The camera system supports advanced features such as 8K video recording and enhanced AI-driven photography modes.

Galaxy S25 Ultra’s Battery and Charging Innovations: Power that Lasts

The Galaxy S25 Ultra is equipped with a 5,000mAh battery, supporting 45W wired charging and 25W wireless charging via Qi2 technology.

Additionally, it offers reverse wireless charging capabilities, allowing users to charge other compatible devices. Despite the battery capacity remaining the same as its predecessor, efficiency improvements in hardware and software contribute to longer battery life.

As far as color options are concerned, you can choose from four main shades plus three online-exclusive shades :

 Running on Android 15 with Samsung’s One UI 7, the Galaxy S25 Ultra integrates enhanced AI features through Google’s Gemini and Samsung’s Bixby assistants. The Galaxy S25 Ultra is available for pre-order starting at $1,299, with official sales commencing on February 7, 2025.

Pricing varies based on storage configurations, ranging up to $1,809 for the 1TB model.
