WWE brought back the second edition of their revamped Saturday Night’s Main Event series on January 25, live from the Frost Bank Center in San Antonio, Texas. In keeping with the nostalgic vibe of the event, WWE experienced some technical hiccups during the broadcast, with several audio issues arising. Saturday Night Main Event wrapped up WWE’s month with a bang, drawing a packed crowd.
The event featured four matches, including three title bouts and a contract signing by HBK.
Special guests, including Hall of Famer Mark Henry and Ted DiBiase, were in attendance to witness the second edition of SNME.
WWE’s Saturday Night Main Event delivered a night full of high stakes, dramatic moments, and action-packed matches, marking the final major event of the month. From explosive title defenses to unexpected twists, the show had fans on the edge of their seats.
The two-hour broadcast pulled in 2.3 million viewers on Saturday night between 8 and 10 p.m.
This marked the first “Saturday Night’s Main Event” since 2008. That event, which also aired on NBC, drew 2.4 million viewers at that time.
Bron Breakker (c) Defeats Sheamus
Sheamus, a decorated WWE superstar, has long chased the Intercontinental Championship, a title that has eluded him throughout his career. Despite coming close multiple times, he always seemed to fall short.
Sheamus and Bron Breakker exchanged brutal blows in this showdown, with Breakker initially dominating the match.
However, Sheamus used his veteran experience to battle back and gain momentum, making for an intense back-and-forth before Breakker ultimately retained his title. Sheamus delivered a Running Knee and Celtic Cross to Bron, but it wasn’t enough to keep the champion down. He followed up with a Brogue Kick, but Bron powered through, placing his foot on the rope to break the count. Sheamus went for another Brogue Kick, but his injured ribs slowed him down. That slight hesitation gave Bron the opening he needed, delivering a devastating spear to Sheamus.
Bron quickly pinned Sheamus and successfully retained the Intercontinental Championship.
Cody Rhodes vs Kevin Owens

Two-time Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels kicked off the segment by introducing both Kevin Owens and Cody Rhodes.
Owens entered the ring sporting a “Cody Suck Eggs” t-shirt, setting the tone for the tense moment. The competitors locked eyes in a fierce staredown as HBK asked them to sit. Cody was the first to sign the contract, but Owens seized the mic to provoke him. Cody responded with one of the most intense promos of his career, leading to a heated verbal altercation between the two, adding fuel to their upcoming clash.
Shawn Michaels called out Kevin Owens, suggesting he was just jealous. Owens then signed the contract, and both titles were hung above the ring. HBK extended his hand for a handshake, but Owens refused. Cody, however, shook Michaels’ hand, and in response, Owens took a cheap shot at the American Nightmare. Owens tried to hit Shawn Michaels with a Package Piledriver, but Cody quickly intervened, kicking Owens in the face to save Michaels.
In a flash, HBK delivered a Sweet Chin Music to Owens, sending him tumbling out of the ring.
Braun Strowman vs. Jacob Fatu Ends in DQ
In a clash of titans, the “Monster Among Men” Braun Strowman faced off against the Samoan Werewolf, Jacob Fatu.
The two giants exchanged brutal blows, with Fatu initially gaining the upper hand. Strowman, however, regained control by delivering a crushing Locomotive. As Strowman went for a third Locomotive, Fatu countered with a devastating Samoan Drop. The match, however, ended in chaos, with the action escalating to a disqualification, leaving fans craving more of this colossal showdown.
Jacob Fatu continued his onslaught on Braun Strowman, throwing the Monster Among Men into the steel stairs before tossing him back into the ring. Fatu unleashed a series of devastating hip attacks on Strowman, ignoring the referee’s warnings. When the referee intervened and ejected Fatu, the match ended in disqualification. However, Fatu wasn’t done, continuing the assault with ruthless aggression.
Braun Strowman was left bleeding heavily as officials struggled to stop Fatu, who still managed to land three Over The Moonsaults before finally leaving the ring, leaving a trail of destruction behind him.
Gunther Retains WWE Heavyweight Championship Against Jey Uso

In a hard-hitting clash for the WWE Heavyweight Championship, Gunther faced off against Jey Uso, who was determined to dethrone the Ring General. After a heated altercation in the previous episode, both men went to war, each trying to dominate the other. Gunther brutalized Jey, but the Underdog fought back with incredible resilience.
The action was intense, with Gunther delivering a missile dropkick followed by a powerbomb, but Jey kicked out, rallying the crowd behind him. Jey’s strength was put to the test as he unleashed a spear, Superkick, and Uso Splash, but Gunther managed to power through and kick out each time.
In the end, Gunther showed his dominance, countering a spear from Jey and delivering two punishing powerbombs to retain his WWE Heavyweight Championship
