This week’s “Saturday Night Live” host, Timothée Chalamet, achieved a rare feat previously accomplished only by Gary Busey.
Chalamet has hosted SNL three times, but last night marked one of his first live musical performances.
During his opening monologue, Chalamet revealed that he is the second actor to also serve as the musical guest on “SNL,” following Busey’s groundbreaking “double duty” appearance. He also reflected on stepping into the shoes of a Nobel Prize winner during his hosting gig.
The Dune star, who portrayed Dylan in A Complete Unknown—a role that earned him an Academy Award nomination—performed his two favorite songs by the legendary folk singer.
Chalamet kicked off with Dylan’s “Outlaw Blues” and “Three Angels,” later delivering a heartfelt rendition of “Tomorrow Is a Long Time.”
“I will say it was a little weird playing Bob Dylan after playing Willy Wonka,” Chalamet quipped, referencing his role in the 2024 film Wonka. “But I heard the two men have a lot in common—they’re both eccentric, they’re both innovators, and they both captured and enslaved hundreds of Oompa Loompas.”
Chalamet’s multimillion-dollar net worth ranks him alongside fellow SNL Season 50 hosts like Bill Burr and Martin Short, as noted by the entertainment database IMDb.
Following his performance on SNL, according to Celebrity New Worth, Chalamet’s net worth is $25 million.
The actor has garnered numerous honors, awards, and nominations throughout his career, which began with appearances in commercials as a child. Following various TV roles, his breakthrough came with his performance as Matthew McConaughey’s son in Interstellar, a critically acclaimed film that grossed $675 million worldwide and catapulted his career to new heights.
The actor recently secured a Best Actor Oscar nomination for his portrayal of Bob Dylan in the biopic A Complete Unknown, a role that also showcased his singing talent.
Chalamet’s SNL Promo Style: Marine Serre Denim
In promo visuals posted earlier in the week, Chalamet wore a denim set by a French designer Marine Serre‘s moon laser print denim jacket with black cuffs and matching blue jeans, with his go-to sneakers, the Nike Air Uptempo.
For the evening show, Chalamet ditched his signature skinny scarves but kept his love for logomania alive. He wore a Celine green leather jacket with a leopard print lining paired with a black t-shirt, blue jeans, a silver chain, and UGG boots.
In the final moments, Chalamet rocked a black leather Yankees bomber, likely from his own collection of merch for his home city team.
For his performance of Dylan’s “Outlaw Blues” and “Three Angels,” Chalamet donned a black parka with the furry hood pulled up, paired with oversized, bug-eyed sunglasses.
For “Tomorrow Is a Long Time,” he switched into an Adidas tracksuit jacket and a Dylan-inspired paisley scarf.
Could We See It at the Oscars?

You might not know the Bob Dylan songs I’m performing, but they’re my personal favorites.
Chalamet shared this with the audience during his monologue. “I’m so grateful Saturday Night Live is still doing weird stuff like this 50 years in. They’re either really nice for letting me do this or incredibly mean, and this is all a big prank.” Could we be in for another Dylan deep cut at this year’s Oscars?
Chalamet truly commits to his roles, as we’ve seen. The SNL skits highlighted just how absurd his range can get.
First, he played a fitness instructor with Fabio-esque long hair, donning a neon ’80s aerobic outfit, as he led a high-flying workout class.
He pushed the bungee-encased women to perform increasingly wacky moves, like the ‘Jimmy Carter.’ At one point, he lunged at Michael Longfellow, calling him a “twig-arm, Twilight-ass bitch” while suspended in his bungee. The class burned a whopping five calories and then indulged in Cinnabons.
Next, Chalamet transformed into Benny, a barista-in-training and aspiring Chris Rock comedy star.
The Bungalow Cafe’s lead baristas (Mikey Day and Heidi Gardner) were training the newbies—Devon Walker, Ashley Padilla, and Chalamet. Tasked with coming up with coffee puns for the chalkboard to attract customers, Chalamet seized the opportunity and turned it into a full-on Def Comedy Jam.
In another skit, Chalamet and Bowen Yang explored the ever-evolving world of Artificial Intelligence, with extra fingers and increasingly absurd banter.
In a classroom setting, students learn about history through the now-popular medium of filmed podcasts. Chalamet and Yang play AI bot friends who glitch and babble nonsense, calling each other “bae,” talking about hooking up with “Trish,” and making wild points about photosynthesis and American history.
