Kevin Spacey has addressed Guy Pearce’s recent interview remarks, in which Pearce alleged that the disgraced actor “targeted” him during the filming of L.A. Confidential. Guy Pearce recently made shocking revelations about Kevin Spacey in a candid interview, reflecting on their time filming the 1997 hit L.A. Confidential.
He’s extremely charming and brilliant at what he does—really impressive, etc. He holds a room remarkably. But I was young and susceptible, and he targeted me, no question,” Pearce recalled. While he stopped short of calling himself a victim, as he was not sexually assaulted, Pearce admitted that Spacey’s behavior left him feeling “uncomfortable.” Now, as Pearce’s claims gain media attention, Spacey has taken to X (formerly Twitter) to push back against the accusations.
Pearce alleged that Spacey harassed him on set, stating that while he managed to shrug off the advances, they left him feeling “sort of scared” of his co-star.
Kevin Spacey is pushing back against Guy Pearce’s recent allegations in a video posted on X, where he tells his L.A. Confidential co-star to “grow up.” Pearce recently made headlines after telling THR that Spacey “targeted” him on the set of the 1997 Oscar-winning neo-noir crime drama. He described Spacey as “quite an aggressive man” but clarified, “Even though I probably was a victim to a degree, I was certainly not a victim by any means to the extent that other people have been to sexual predators.”

Kevin Spacey Challenges Guy Pearce’s Claims
In his video response, Spacey criticized Pearce for taking the issue to the media rather than addressing it privately.
“We worked together a long time ago. If I did something then that upset you, you could’ve reached out to me, we could’ve had that conversation,” Spacey said. “But instead, you decided to speak to the press, who of course are now coming after me because they’d like to know what my response is to the things that you said. You really want to know what my response is? Grow up.”
Spacey further pointed out that a year after filming L.A. Confidential, Pearce flew to Savannah, Georgia, to visit him on the set of Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil. According to Spacey, this contradicted Pearce’s claim that he had felt uneasy around him.
He also questioned the timing of Pearce’s comments, noting that nearly three decades had passed since their collaboration. Spacey accused Pearce of trying to paint himself as a victim, despite previously downplaying the severity of their interactions. To address the situation openly, Spacey suggested having a live discussion on X, asserting that he had “nothing to hide.” The Baby Driver actor has faced multiple allegations of sexual misconduct since 2017, leading to legal battles and professional fallout. Despite this, he has consistently maintained his innocence, and in recent years, courts have ruled in his favor in several cases, including a 2022 New York verdict and a 2023 acquittal in a U.K. trial.

“What took you so long? Did your horse run out of gas?” Spacey quipped in his response.
“I mean, you want to have a conversation, I’m happy to do so anytime, any place. We can even do it here live on X if you’d like; I’ve got nothing to hide. But, Guy, you need to grow up. You are not a victim.”Despite his legal victories, Spacey has remained largely absent from Hollywood. However, some in the industry have spoken in his defense. Sharon Stone has praised his acting talent, while Brian Cox has criticized cancel culture, advocating for Spacey’s return to the screen.
He wrapped up the video by reiterating his willingness to address the matter publicly. “If you want to have a conversation, I’m happy to do so anytime, any place,” Spacey stated. “We can even do it here live on X if you’d like. I’ve got nothing to hide. But, Guy, you need to grow up. You are not a victim.”
