As per recent reports, Haley Joel Osment—best known for his chilling “I see dead people” line in The Sixth Sense—had a real-life drama unfold on the slopes of California’s Mammoth Mountain. The 37-year-old actor was arrested on April 8 after allegedly being intoxicated in public while visiting the popular ski resort.
According to officials, ski patrol initially detained the actor after reports of disruptive behavior. When local police arrived around 2 PM, Osment was taken into custody. He was later booked for public intoxication and possession of a controlled substance, the identity of which is still pending lab results.

Despite the serious situation, Osment appeared to be in high spirits—literally and figuratively—offering a slight smile in his mugshot, now circulating widely online.
The Mono County D.A. is reviewing the case to determine if charges will be formally filed. Meanwhile, Osment is no longer in custody and has not released an official statement.
Sources close to the actor say he’s been struggling lately. He reportedly lost his home in the Altadena wildfire and has faced roadblocks with insurance claims. A replacement home was denied coverage, leaving him caught in a stressful spiral.
Not His First Brush with the Law
This isn’t Osment’s first legal hiccup. Back in 2006, he crashed his car under the influence, later pleading no contest to DUI and marijuana possession. He was sentenced to probation, rehab, AA meetings, and fines.
Where You’ve Seen Him Lately
Osment, once a beloved child star, recently returned to screens in Blink Twice, directed by Zoë Kravitz, and also popped up in What We Do in the Shadows on FX. Despite past troubles, his acting chops remain sharp, and fans hope he finds his footing off-screen, too.
