FOX Footy and Kayo Sports officially launched the 2025 AFL season yesterday at the Beverly Rooftop in South Yarra, bringing together some of the biggest names in footy and sports media. The event featured Foxtel Group CEO Patrick Delany, who found himself flanked by ‘featherweight versions’ of Jonathon Brown and Jack Riewoldt, referencing the latest FOX Footy TVC—or perhaps a nostalgic nod to a classic Footy Show drag revue.

Among the star-studded attendees were AFL CEO Andrew Dillon, Jason Dunstall, Garry Lyon, Kelli Underwood, Sarah Jones, Western Bulldogs captain Marcus Bontempelli, AFLW Adelaide Crows co-captain Ebony Marinoff, FOX Cricket commentator Adam Gilchrist, Supercars driver Mark Winterbottom, and boxer Michael Zerafa.

Bigger and Better in 2025

FOX Sports Managing Director Steve Crawley set the tone for the upcoming season, stating:

Season 2024 was record-breaking for FOX Footy, but with the greatest respect, this season will be bigger and better. It’s the only place to watch every game of every round live, featuring the best callers, the best pictures, and ad-break-free coverage in play. Everyone at FOX Footy has been working hard to bring fans what they deserve – the best of the best. Bring it on!

The 2025 AFL season kicks off on Thursday, March 6, with reigning premiers Brisbane facing off against Geelong in a blockbuster opener.

Super Saturday Live & New Innovations

This year, Super Saturday Live will provide wall-to-wall AFL coverage from the first bounce to the final siren, exclusively on FOX Footy via Kayo Sports and Foxtel. It remains the only place to watch live AFL on Saturdays in Victoria and Tasmania throughout the season and will also be available nationally for the first eight rounds.

For the first time, FOX Footy is introducing:

  • Dedicated commentary teams for every match
  • Bespoke graphics and enhanced coverage in 4K
  • More viewing options than ever before

Kayo Call-Up Winner Joins FOX Footy

Guests at the launch were also treated to an exclusive preview of Kayo Sports’ latest TVC, starring three-time premiership player Dustin Martin, alongside Jack Riewoldt, Jonathon Brown, Dermott Brereton, and Tayla Harris. The campaign is set to premiere on Sunday, March 2.

Adding to the excitement, Jarra Davis, a 22-year-old from Gippsland, was officially welcomed to the FOX Footy team after winning the Kayo Call Up competition, beating out more than 450 entrants. Davis will join Super Saturday Live, providing social insights and exclusive behind-the-scenes coverage from the ground.

With an action-packed season ahead, FOX Footy and Kayo Sports are set to deliver the most immersive and comprehensive AFL coverage yet.
